*This is a non photography post and a community service brought to you by PhotogMao.com.

"UNICEF - An average of 7 children in Malaysia suffered abuse everyday in 2009, and these were only the reported cases."
Children are adorable and I have been taking many lovely photos of them.
How could anyone just abuse these little innocent children.

In support of UNICEF campaign to STOP child abuse in Malaysia,

Sebelum Hari Raya 2010 at Jalan TAR

I posted these photos in my facebook quite some time ago. They were taken at Jalan TAR (Tunku Abdul Rahman) during my street photography trip with my photog buddies. It was before the Hari Raya festival (a muslim celebration).

What an eye-opener experience with bustling activities going on there!

The photography adventure started by gathering at Sogo shopping centre, which was located near to the Jalan TAR. Thanks to photog Pietro, I had a "kopitiam-style" breakfast.

A big sale was going on at Sogo shopping centre.

The busy street along Jalan TAR.

Hotel Noble, located along Jalan TAR.

A dad was seen baby sitting his child.

Heart Patrick was here at Jalan TAR too !
He seems to be excited over the variety of goods that you can find there.

Plenty of colorful clothes on sale.

A peddler selling jeans at Jalan TAR.

Serunding (minced dried beef) is one of my favourite Malay's delicacy.

Variety of Raya cookies sold at Jalan TAR.

Varieties of snacks made from peanuts.

Songket, a traditional Malay clothes can be found at Jalan TAR.

Peddlers selling plastic sheets.

Cold drinks to quench your thirst.

Towards the inner roads of Jalan TAR, shoppers are expected to braze the huge crowds under the hot sun.

Mickey Mouse and Tweety Bird were there too. =)

There are many lovely children around at Jalan TAR.

Children has to hold tight to their parents to keep them from missing among the crowds.

Some were lucky to be carried around by their parents.

Balloon sellers were having a brisk business with them around.

We had an enjoyable street photography shooting at Jalan TAR.

Photog buddies in the eyes of Heart Patrick.

We met people who were friendly to us.

They smiled when we pointed our camera towards them.

Not forgetting sharing a warm moment with a caring and loving dad.

After a tiring outing, we headed off to have our lunch at Coliseum Cafe and Hotel. It is a classic restaurant with vintage decoration.

Say Hi to the dedicated waiter, Captain Ho.

Event - "Townhall" Session with Prime Minister, DS Mohd Najib

I was invited by a close friend of mine to attend the "Townhall" session with Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib. It was held in the auditorium of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) building.

Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib.

The BN Youth Lab organized this event to present their findings regarding the issues and challenges faced by the Malaysian Youth. They also proposed suggestions to help the Malaysian Youth.

I attended this event as a social media photojournalist. It's also part of representing the youth leaders (non partisan) from around Malaysia.

Arrival of VIPs early in the morning.

The current BN Youth Chief, YB Khairy Jamaluddin gave a presentation about their research findings.

Shortly after the presentation, the VIPs, members of the press, and others went out to welcome the arrival of the Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib.

Next is the open dialog session with the Prime Minister.

Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department was there too.

The event ended with a huge Hari Raya card for DS Mohd. Najib with wishes from everyone.

Selamat Hari Raya to our Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib.

After that, Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib left the place shortly.

We had a small chat with Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, ex-Chief Minister of Penang. The photo on the right shows the file folder where he kept all the notes taken during the event.

Lily Tang, a JPA scholar was being interviewed by NTV7 reporter.

Although a photojournalist has the freedom to "roam" around, it's a tough job indeed to capture the right moment among the huge crowd. Not forgetting those professional journalists with "HUGE guns" and years of experience.

Alas I get to taste what a photojournalist job is like, seeing so many familiar faces which I normally see on paper. I get to meet new friends too. =)
